Recently had an issue in Debian where syslog was filled with unwanted info from UFW. Found that the file /etc/rsyslog.d/20-ufw.conf has # & ~ at the bottom of the file, remove the # in front of it to uncomment it and refresh rsyslog with the command /etc/init.d/rsyslog restart.

Once that is done that should activate the new config .
